Nightly Rentals - Informational Marketing Campaign with Real Estate Agent David Wiebe

Can You Do Nightly Rentals in Squamish?

“Can You Do Nightly Rentals in Squamish” is part of an ongoing informational marketing campaign with Squamish based real estate agent David Wiebe of Engel and Völkers.

The goal of the series is to provide information to answer online search queries relevant to David's client base, increase his online presence by reaching people outside his current follower base, create discussions in online forums and build SEO for his website, davidwiebe.ca

By focussing on subjects that David's target demographic are likely to search online, we set out to create content that they would be likely to seek out organically.

It was our goal to create content that provides the viewer with information of value, relevant to local issues, that would be easily found through online search, and would break down naturally into segmented pieces for David's social media channels over a 4½ week period.

In addition to posting the content on his personal social media channels, they were featured in paid instagram and facebook advertising, and posted in local forums in order to fuel online discussions on the issue and give David an opportunity to interact with the online community.

Objective

Our main objective was to create content with a purpose, that provided valuable information, worth the viewers time to watch while communicating David’s  expertise, and knowledge on the subject matter. We hoped to entice the viewer to contact David for more information.

The media pieces were optimized for each platform (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube) by researching the viewing habits of users, the device the content would be likely viewed on and how to maximize the lifespan of the content on each feed, especially on instagram with it’s rapid refresh rate.

Production

Vantage Digital Media worked alongside David Wiebe to outline the content of the episodes and outline a plan to break it down for social media.

"Nightly Rentals” took two days to shoot, one full day with David to capture his soundbites and another to capture relatable B roll from the Squamish area. We were able to save time and money by ensuring the pre production aspects of this project were detailed to streamline the shooting process.

It was important to ensure that David came off as knowledgable on the subject. In order to communicate this to the viewer we filmed each point as a single take, which highlighted David's ability to talk about the issue confidently.

The end result was a fast paced, educational series of videos that explained the legalities surrounding one of Squamish's most talked about recent issues.

Delivery

Delivery of “Can You Do Nightly Rentals in Squamish” included the following assets

  • 1 x YouTube video
  • 1 x YouTube thumbnail
  • 1 x Subtitle file for YouTube closed captions
  • 1 x IGTV video
  • 1 x IGTV cover photo
  • 5 x instagram story videos
  • 5 x instagram post videos
  • 5 x facebook post videos

The media was organized to be released over a 4 ½ week release schedule, in order to keep the theme visible on social channels with rapidly refreshing feeds (such as instagram) throughout the length of the campaign.

The content was delivered via dropbox, with files organized into folders corresponding with the scheduled release dates of the content to keep things easy and organized for our client.

In addition to the release of video assets (created by Vantage Digital Media), an accompanying blog post was released on DavidWiebe.ca and shortened versions of the video were sent out in his monthly newsletter.

This resulted in a spike of web traffic, several online interactions with prospective clients and an increase in David’s social following over the month of August.

Although the initial marketing push for this project has been completed, the video content will remain an integral component of David’s SEO strategy into the future.

We expect view counts to continue to increase as the debate surrounding the subject matter increases.
